Living Alone Diaries 1; Purple Sofas, Sheer Curtains and Retro Radio
For the longest time, I've always envisioned and imagined what it would feel like to finally live all alone. I've always thought it would be perfect and probably involves a lot of TV watching and Midnight snacking. Well, at least the midnight snacking is a thing. But watching TV wasn't. Because it's been exactly four months since I moved into my home and my living room still echoes no TV or Furnishing yet just this really cute and very Scandinavian Bluetooth speaker I got three years ago on Instagram which I really love BTW and a coffee table I stole from my parents place, I did a lot of stealing from my parent's home in the process of moving to my space.
😆
However, I still get to do the little things that make me happy. Pasting little artworks on the walls, making sure my spaces smell nice and fresh. I've got a lavender air freshener in the living room and a vanilla-scented one in the bedroom, and I absolutely love that the rooms have their own peculiar smell.
I've always loved the idea of a sheer curtain, I got that too so I think this space is finally becoming a home. I'd still have to add some Greenery to my backyard which is quite nice. Although I'd have preferred a balcony, a backyard works too.
I also have a small gated entrance which could serve as my lounging area, where I can probably sip hot tea late in the night while I read a historical romance novel. I haven't gotten around to furnishing it yet, but I will eventually.
It's really fun doing little things around my space. Although it still echoes, early in the morning and late in the evening, it truly feels like HOME.
I'm in the process of making two one-seater couches and guess what the colour is? Purple! Well because my sheer curtains had purple in it, lots of purple actually and any other colour would have made the space look too eclectic, which is not the style I would like to have.
I'm thinking Warm Minimalist would be the perfect description for my interior style. If that's a thing, and even if it's not a thing, it is now!
