Living & Wellness: Ideas to boost quality living this new year

The New year fever is upon us again, and we are by now chanting the very famous cliche "New Year New Me". So we begin to formulate new plans and goals on how to make this New year much more pleasant. Some of us may desire new material items, while others may be a bit more intentional about theirs by focusing on habits such as healthy eating, practicing self-care, combating insomnia, improving relationships, starting yoga, or even decluttering and organizing our space

However, while we are putting together our New year goals, we should remember the most important elements of our daily living, which are our spaces and environment. Because a space that promotes well-being will inevitably result in a positive mind growth of its occupants. This is important because according to statistics we spend an average of 90% of our time indoors or in a building, so we ought to be more intentional about the space we occupy.
There are several ways to promote positive growth that we may need for the new year, and they include but are not limited to;

DECLUTTERING
There are just some things you need not to bring with you into the new year, you ought to find out what these things are and ditch them before you shout the next happy new year. Clear and clean out your space, wash and properly store items you use less frequently, give out items you haven't used for years and will probably never use, trash anything that is worn out or not worth holding on to, and give yourself and your space a chance to breathe.

EMBRACING A BIOPHILIC LIFESTYLE
Now more than ever we are starting to understand the importance of nature in our space, there are many dynamics to embracing a biophilic lifestyle, the easiest being greenery, so 2023 is the year you should embrace adopting life plants, because not only are they good for your health, but also caring for live plants will help you to live a more intentional life. See the article: living with plants to learn more about indoor greenery and how to care for them.

DO MORE BOARD GAMES & BOOKS
We love technology, I mean it made our life easier, but in return, it made it quite difficult too, as we no longer enjoy life as we should, we are constantly on the Internet for the next juicy gossip or news to keep our minds temporarily occupied, and this is doing us more harm than good, as it eventually leaves us unfulfilled. So 2023 is the time to give yourself a much-needed break from your Phone, Laptop, and TV screen. Buy brain-boosting board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Ayo, and Jenga. Also whether or not you are a bibliophile, you should start buying and reading more books this year.

INDULGE IN HEALTHY HOBBIES
The year 2023 should be about healthy living yoga, meditation, running, swimming, and slow cooking are all hobbies we need to take up for this New year, they are also known to boost mental wellness in individuals. Quit negative habits, and start these new ones.

VOLUNTEER AND DO MORE CHARITY
For every act of charity that we do, we know someone is irrevocably happy somewhere and with this knowledge, we know our actions no matter how small will help create a difference, which in return will make us happy and fulfilled. 2023 should be the year of charity and giving to the needy and the most vulnerable in our community You can also volunteer at any charity organization or NGO in your community.
